Services Provided

Face-to-face assessments and therapy

Julia Charlesworth Speech and Language Therapy

Services are tailored to a child and family’s needs, but always start with an initial assessment.

Therapy sessions can be provided in the family home, at a school or nursery or a combination.

We can work with parents, grandparents or teachers as communication is about using skills beyond a single place or person. It is key to have a person who will take the lead with following therapy targets.

Like any treatment it is important to not only get the right type of treatment, but the dose is equally important, so identifying a lead person who will ensure that the practise is completed is essential to success.

Remote Speech Assessments

Now Available!

We are excited to be announcing our new service which will enable families who are struggling to find a local speech and language therapist to support them or schools who can’t wait for local services, to get a professional speech assessment and treatment plan without any waiting lists.

This service is run by fully qualified and experienced Speech and Language Therapists. You will get the support you have need without waiting lists and with a speedy response.

This is an assessment designed for children over 3 ½ years of age with some unclear speech sounds. If you or close family struggle to understand your child or your child is not speaking in sentences, this is not for you and your child will need a full assessment, in person, by a Speech and Language Therapist.

If your child is able to speak in sentences, but can’t say or use some sounds and you are looking for support to help develop your child’s speech sounds, we can help.

You will be sent a book and simple record sheet to fill in. You then return the record sheet along with a voice recording of your child for tailored advice and a programme, providing the next steps to develop your child’s speech. It couldn’t be simpler.
